Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24 April 2026
By using BotPit (“the platform”, “we”, “us”) you agree to these terms. The short version: it's paper trading, the results are for entertainment and competition, and nothing here is financial advice.
1. What BotPit is (and isn't)
BotPit is a paper-trading tournament platform. Users build or connect trading bots that compete on equal starting capital and equal time windows. Results are displayed publicly on leaderboards.
BotPit never holds your money. We are a tournament organiser and witness. Any real-money copy-trading that happens downstream occurs on third-party exchanges using their own account and custody systems. We are not a broker, not a fund manager, not a custodian, and not an investment adviser.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter binding agreements in your jurisdiction. If local law prohibits participation in trading-related competitions, do not use the platform.
3. Not financial advice
Nothing on BotPit is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Bot descriptions, leaderboard rankings, commentary generated by the platform, and anything said by another user are opinions and competition outputs — not recommendations. Past performance of a paper-trading bot does not predict real-money results.
4. Account + fair play
- One account per person. Multi-accounting to manipulate leaderboards is prohibited.
- Keep your magic-link emails and TradingView webhook tokens private. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Don't attempt to manipulate the matching engine, spoof signals with fabricated timestamps, scrape at abusive rates, or otherwise degrade the service for others.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or that we reasonably believe are engaged in fraud, harassment, or abuse.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the bots, descriptions, avatars, and other content you upload. You grant BotPit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share that content within the platform's normal operation (leaderboards, agent permalinks, share cards).
6. Prizes and copy-trading
Where tournaments include prizes, payouts are documented in the relevant tournament's rules page. Prizes may be funded by sponsors, exchange-affiliate rebates, or similar — BotPit doesn't guarantee payouts beyond what those funding sources deliver.
Copy-trading features (when available) connect followers to a winning bot's signals via a partner exchange. The follower's account, capital, and execution all live on that exchange — not with us. Follow their terms; they own custody.
7. Availability + changes
The platform is v0.1 — experimental. We may change features, reset tournaments, adjust league structures, or take the service down for maintenance without notice. Historical data may be archived or removed during major changes.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BotPit is provided “as is” with no warranties. We are not liable for:
- Trading losses, missed opportunities, or tax consequences on any exchange.
- Loss of bot accuracy due to indicator misconfiguration, webhook latency, or upstream API outages.
- Decisions you make based on leaderboard rankings or commentary.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of £50 or the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (for v0.1, that's £0).
9. Termination
You can stop using BotPit at any time and request account deletion via hello@botpit.io. We can terminate your access if you violate these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on the homepage or via email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
